Holly-Hunter

Holly Hunter is an American actress and producer well recognized by her outstanding performance in films such as Broadcast News The Firm The Piano and The Incredibles. The film Piano earned her numerous awards, among them an Oscar. She began her career acting as a performer on Broadway and Off Broadway. Since her childhood she's always been very passionate about performing. She portrayed Helen Keller as a fifth-grade pupil in a school performance. Her mumps made her blind and deaf in one ear. However, she was determined not to allow that hinder her progress as an actor. At college, she was a theatre student and then moved to New York City in pursuit of her dreams. A chance meeting led her to found herself in an elevator together with playwright Beth Henley and the two worked together on the Broadway Crimes of the Heart' which became Hunter's debut. After moving into Los Angeles she tried to get film roles and bagged the role of a co-star on Swing Shift. Holly Hunter has been in numerous films, TV series and feature films throughout the course of her professional career. Holly Hunter was awarded a Hollywood Walk of Fame Star along with the Women in Film Lucy Award.
